Check out this Phones4u video in their ongoing Handset Histories series where they cover the history of the BlackBerry from it’s beginnings all the way up until now.  A few of the dates and a model or two aren’t entirely accurate, or, entirely inaccurate if you are stickler for facts, but, you get a good overview of how Research in Motion and the BlackBerry came into being and got to the BlackBerry that you know today.
