ABC Racer is a part of a unique learning series called “Zen and the Art of Learning to Read(TM)”. The goal of the ABC Racer game is to make certain emergent readers actually look at and say every upper and lower case letter in the English alphabet. To accomplish this, we place each letters on a steering wheel. When the child has tapped and repeated the first letters in the series, the wheel advances to a new set of letters. This game is sequential. The child must click on every letter before advancing to the next letter. When your child completes the alphabet, and has seen every letter, the imaginary race car completes its course and crosses the finish line with a firework display. It is easy to toggle between upper and lower case letters. Simply tap on the lower “a” or upper case “A” in the top right of the screen. It is always a good idea to support online learning with learning in the real world, so we suggest that you follow playing this game by showing your child lower and upper case letters in books and on signs. Celebrate when your child recognizes a letter. Ask your child if she can tell the difference between letter forms. Some are round and some are tall. Also, ask why some letters are red.
